Destiny. This seven letter word has made me curious on several occasions. The word is so enchanting that it has resulted debates and discussions among intellectuals. From mostly what I have heard there have been two outcomes from those numerous debates and discussions. Some people believe destiny is not an option but an imperative path that every man has to follow even against his will. While some other people firmly trust in the fact that destiny doesn't make a man rather a man makes his own destiny. Now the question is whose right? Or is anyone wrong? Trust me, I don't want these questions to sound rhetoric. What if we take into account the lives of those great men who have either followed or made their own destiny? What would Ernesto 'CHE' Guevera had to say about destiny when he left his safe career in the field of medicine to become a revolutionary? What would had Jesus Christ replied if asked why did he chose to take the path which ended in inhuman pain and suffering? What would have young prince Siddharth said when he sacrificed his regal life, family and kingdom on his quest for 'moksha' and become the Buddha? What would had Mother Teresa replied?
When I read and think about the lives of these great people, the grey confusing cloud gets thinned and this magical seven letter word imparts a deeper yet simpler meaning to me. Destiny isn't a good luck or charm. It's an inner and deeper realization brought about through an unique experience which has the capacity to provide direction in understanding the core meaning and value of life. Human beings are God's precious gift to this world. Unlike any other species who can only eat, sleep, live and die, we as human beings have the power to think and ameliorate the condition of the world. But unfortunately our mind is too diluted and our soul is concealed underneath the crave and greed for selfish interest. So the saviours actually end up annihilating the whole ecology.
Therefore a person who is closer to nature and has space for love, compassion and empathy in his heart can understand the true meaning of life and the real purpose of living. And when you do that, you know what your destiny is. You understand the core purpose of life which is far from any personal benefit but closer to personal suffering and sacrifice. But that pain from suffering or sacrifice will be so sweet that you will love to get wounded time and again. And that's when you will start living and stop existing.
